During my childhood I was exposed to many different forms of Christianity and came away with more questions than answers.
How could churches located within 100 yards of each other have such different interpretations of the same Scriptures?
For that matter, what about differing opinions within the same congregation, with everyone claiming the correct interpretation by the power of the holy Spirit?
Who is right, and how are we to know who can make an authoritative decision?
The only option that I saw was to investigate the Christian churches in existence, comparing their beliefs against those taught in Scripture.
This site is a transcription of my thought process (slightly more organized...).
John 8
- 31
- Jesus then said to those Jews who believed in him, "If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,
- 32
- and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
